With Time

IMG_4246

I wrote this 16 March 2010.  Thinking back to times I struggled, knowing trials that are before me now – this is a song of victory, but also a prayer for people I know b/c someday I hope to hear them sing something like this from their heart. That they would stop just living their dead life and rise again to start afresh in Christ.

My life was hanging by a thread

But I traded it for your hand instead

No longer dependent on this world’s sources

You fight for me with Heavenly forces

I don’t doubt your faithfulness

But at times I do doubt mine

I pray help me in my unbelief

As my heart changes with time

I sing a new song

Only for you

I live a new song

Worshipping you

Only you

To wash my hands of all my past

Means having faith only you will last

The Book of Life has my name inscribed

You died for me so I will survive

I don’t doubt your faithfulness

But at times I do doubt mine

I pray help me in my unbelief

As my heart changes with time

I sing a new song

Only for you

I live a new song

Worshipping you

Only you

My feet almost stepped over the edge

But I let you catch me with love instead

No longer sulking in my self-pity

I put my hope in you

and I wait with you

I sing a new song

Only for you

I live a new song

Worshipping you

I sing a new song

Only for you

I live a new song

Worshipping you

I sing a new song

Only for you

I live a new song

Worshipping you

Only you

Only you

Help me in my unbelief

As my heart changes with time

Forever A Bride

*This is all over the place. I only say that because it has been coming to me in pieces all week, so I guess now it’s in one place. Oh, well. God really placed this on my heart today, especially after I found a girl crying on the ship today because she’s afraid her husband wants a divorce and we’ve only been out to sea for a month. LORD, please be with ____ as she goes through this. I pray you act in her marriage and that they grow closer to you and each other because of her absence instead of painfully apart. AMEN* Here it goes:

No longer ashamed
The Bridegroom has redeemed us
No longer dirty and maimed
The Bridegroom has cleaned and mended
No more covering our heads
He gave us a crown
No longer torn from the inside out
He gives us a royal robe
He makes us beautiful
We are His desire
And we are
Forever a Bride

No longer trapped in the pit
Our Prince pulled us out
No longer locked in a tower
Our Prince pulled us out
No more working for salvation
The work’s been done by Him
No longer afraid of the Silence
He makes us still in peace
He sings a song in us
We are His desire
And we are
Forever A Bride

We are ready to give You everything
We are ready to open our hearts to You
We are ready to be Yours, all Yours
So take us in your arms
We’re Ready, Jesus

You make us beautiful
We are Your desire
You sing us the purest song
You are our desire

And we are forever, forever, forever Your Bride
Forever, forever, forever
Your Bride

You will never say
We’re not worth your faithfulness
You will never say
We’re not worth Your tears
You will never say
We’re not worth the blood you spilled
You will never say
We’re not worth the debt you paid
You will never say
We’re not worth your death
You will never say
We’re not worth you rising back to life
You will never say
We’re not worth it all
You say we are worth it all

You are worth it all!

And we’re
Forever, forever, forever Your Bride
We’re forever, forever, forever Your Bride

We are Your desire
You are our desire
We are Your desire
You are our desire, Lord

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus

The Duty

I used to take for granted
All that brave ones do
Those who leave their home to go far away
To defend their own and you

I used to see the flag
Pass it with no glance
Not rememb’ring that brave ones die
Their blood, stripes in the sand

No more

They put their lives on the line
Their hearts
Are on mine all the time
I just pray they’re safe
And that they don’t run away
From the duty to which they swore
Oh God you see all of them
Watch over all of them

And I too am one of them
I leave my family back at home
To support and defend what our founding fathers
Intended to be strong

Seems ethics and morals are vague
In this world that we live in
Deep down in our hearts we know there is right
That’s meant for us to fight for

And so
We put our lives on the line
Our hearts
Are on our families all the time
We just pray they’re safe
And that they understand
The duty to which we swore
Oh God you see all of them
Watch over all of them

Night to night and Day to day
As God is constant
So shall we
As we wait for calm and peace

And so
We put our lives on the line
Our hearts
They’re on God’s all the time
We just pray to stay true
To not run away
From the duty to which we swore
Oh God you see all of us
Come cover all of us
Oh God you see all of us
Come cover all of us

We are free
We will be there
So you are free
In God
We are truly free

Lifted Lyrics

Hello all,

I have started a new blog to host lyrics that my heart bursts out onto paper.  Not sure if me being afraid of someone copying them for themselves is selfish of me, I decided to try it out anyway.  Every now and then I get a spurt of inspiration, and in about 5-10 minutes I have a sheet with a potential song on it.  One of these days, if God wills it, some of these may actually be to the tune of some music (I am terrible keeping up with my digital recorder :/  ).  Anyway, anyone is welcome to leave any kind of comment.

My goal is to glorify God.  If the lyrics don’t, leave a comment.  If they do and you feel led, leave a comment.  Seriously.

In Christ,

Kate (and thanks!)
